The facilities at Park Avenue State School are exceptional. Students enjoy learning in spacious well appointed classrooms and have the luxury of choosing from a number of undercover, playground, cricket, soccer, netball and football areas when it comes to play time.
The gracious old library is at the heart of the school. Students have access to a range of technology devices in their classrooms including an Interactive Whiteboard to engage students in teaching and learning. Specialist classes, including Japanese, Music, Health and Physical Education and Instrumental Music, are conducted in dedicated classrooms. Community activities, including parades, are held in the multipurpose hall located at the rear of the school fronting Tung-Yeen Street. This large assembly/performance area also houses toilets including dedicated disability facilities, a fully equipped catering section and a large classroom.
Park Avenue State School offers the Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) for the Rockhampton region to support children aged 0-5 years with a diagnosed or suspected disability. The program includes a Playgroup for infants, centre-based programs for children (3-5 years), and outreach support which are all aimed at enhancing successful school transitions.
